What We Use
1. Firebase Analytics
Purpose: Understand app usage and improve features
Provider: Google (Firebase)
Data Collected:
- App opens and session duration
- Screen views and navigation patterns
- Feature usage (which features are most popular)
- Device information (type, OS version, app version)
- Crash reports and error logs
- Anonymous user behavior patterns
Personal Information: No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected by Firebase Analytics. Data is aggregated and anonymized.

2. Authentication Tokens
Purpose: Keep you logged in securely
Provider: Firebase Authentication
Data Stored:
- Session tokens
- User ID
- Authentication state
Duration: Until you log out or tokens expire (typically 1 hour, with automatic refresh)
Security: Tokens are encrypted and stored securely on your device
3. Local Storage
Purpose: App functionality and offline access
Data Stored:
- User preferences (theme, notification settings)
- Cached data (task lists, group information)
- Draft content (unsaved task evidence)
Duration: Until you clear app data or uninstall the app
Control: You can clear local storage through your device settings
4. Push Notification Tokens
Purpose: Send task reminders and group notifications
Provider: Firebase Cloud Messaging
Data Stored:
- Device token for push notifications
- Notification preferences
Control: You can disable notifications in app settings or device settings
What We Track
App Usage
- Which screens you visit
- How long you spend in the app
- Which features you use most
- Navigation patterns
Performance
- App load times
- Feature response times
- Crash reports and errors
- Network connectivity issues
Device Information
- Device type (iPhone, Android, etc.)
- Operating system version
- App version
- Screen size and resolution
- Language and region settings
What We DON'T Track
- ❌ Your exact location or GPS coordinates
- ❌ Personal conversations or messages
- ❌ Content of your photos (only metadata like upload time)
- ❌ Browsing history outside the app
- ❌ Contacts or other apps on your device
- ❌ Keyboard input or passwords

Note: Firebase is GDPR and COPPA compliant and has strong privacy protections.
Your Privacy Controls
Disable Analytics
You can opt out of analytics tracking:
iOS:
1. Go to Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements
2. Disable "Share iPhone Analytics"
3. Disable "Share with App Developers"
Android:
1. Go to Settings → Google → Ads
2. Enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
3. Or use device settings to limit ad tracking
Note: Disabling analytics may limit some app functionality and our ability to provide support.
Disable Notifications
In Chorely:
1. Go to Settings → Notifications
2. Toggle off notification types you don't want
On Your Device:
- iOS: Settings → Notifications → Chorely
- Android: Settings → Apps → Chorely → Notifications
Clear Local Data
iOS: Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Chorely → Delete App
Android: Settings → Apps → Chorely → Storage → Clear Data
Warning: This will log you out and remove all cached data.
Delete Your Account
To completely remove all data:
1. Open Chorely → Settings → Account
2. Tap "Delete Account"
3. Confirm deletion
All data, including analytics history, will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
Data Retention
Active Users
- Session data: Duration of your session
- Analytics data: Retained for 14 months (Firebase default)
- Crash reports: Retained for 90 days
Deleted Accounts
- All data is permanently deleted within 30 days
- Analytics data is anonymized and cannot be linked back to you
Legal Requirements
Some data may be retained longer if required by law or for legal proceedings.
Cookies in Web Version (If Applicable)
If Chorely has a web version, we may use:
Essential Cookies
- Required for login and authentication
- Cannot be disabled without breaking functionality
Analytics Cookies
- Track usage and performance
- Can be disabled through browser settings
Preference Cookies
- Remember your settings and preferences
- Can be cleared through browser settings
Browser Controls: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through settings.
