Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy defines the rules and standards for using Chorely. Our goal is to maintain a safe, respectful, and family-friendly environment for all users.

• Honesty: Be truthful in task completion and point redemption
• Privacy: Respect the privacy of your family members
• Responsibility: Use the app as intended for household management

Acceptable Use

You may use Chorely to:

• ✅ Organize and manage household tasks within your family
• ✅ Assign age-appropriate chores to family members
• ✅ Upload appropriate photos as evidence of completed tasks
• ✅ Award and redeem points for rewards
• ✅ Communicate with family members about tasks and responsibilities
• ✅ Track household progress and celebrate achievements
• ✅ Create custom rewards that are appropriate and achievable
• ✅ Manage your family group settings and membership

Prohibited Content

You may NOT upload, share, or post content that is:

Explicit or Inappropriate

• ❌ Sexually explicit, pornographic, or suggestive content
• ❌ Nudity or partial nudity
• ❌ Content depicting or promoting sexual activity
• ❌ Inappropriate or suggestive poses

Violent or Dangerous

• ❌ Graphic violence, gore, or bloodshed
• ❌ Content depicting weapons used in a threatening manner
• ❌ Instructions for dangerous or illegal activities
• ❌ Self-harm or suicide-related content
• ❌ Content promoting dangerous challenges or stunts

Hateful or Discriminatory

• ❌ Hate speech targeting race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
• ❌ Discriminatory or derogatory content
• ❌ Symbols or imagery associated with hate groups
• ❌ Content promoting discrimination or prejudice

Illegal Activity

• ❌ Content depicting illegal activities (drug use, theft, vandalism, etc.)
• ❌ Instructions for illegal activities
• ❌ Counterfeit goods or pirated content
• ❌ Content that violates laws or regulations

Harmful to Minors (ZERO TOLERANCE)

• ❌ Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any content depicting minors in sexual or suggestive situations is STRICTLY PROHIBITED and will be reported to law enforcement immediately
• ❌ Child Exploitation: Content that exploits, endangers, or harms children in any way
• ❌ Grooming Behavior: Any attempt to establish inappropriate relationships with minors
• ❌ Bullying or Harassment: Bullying, harassment, or intimidation of minors
• ❌ Dangerous Content: Content that encourages dangerous behavior by children
• ❌ Inappropriate Contact: Any inappropriate contact with minors outside family relationships

Offensive or Disturbing

• ❌ Profanity, vulgar language, or obscene gestures
• ❌ Disturbing, shocking, or disgusting content
• ❌ Content intended to harass, intimidate, or upset others
• ❌ Spam, repetitive, or nonsensical content

Privacy Violations

• ❌ Personal information of others without consent (addresses, phone numbers, etc.)
• ❌ Private conversations or communications
• ❌ Content that violates someone's reasonable expectation of privacy
• ❌ Doxxing or sharing private information maliciously

Intellectual Property Violations

• ❌ Copyrighted content you don't have rights to use
• ❌ Trademarked material used without authorization
• ❌ Plagiarized content or impersonation

Prohibited Conduct

You may NOT:

Abuse the System

• ❌ Manipulate the points system or rewards
• ❌ Create fake tasks or evidence
• ❌ Claim tasks you didn't complete
• ❌ Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities for personal gain
• ❌ Use automated tools or bots

Harass or Harm Others

• ❌ Bully, threaten, or intimidate family members
• ❌ Engage in harassment or stalking behavior
• ❌ Impersonate others or create fake accounts
• ❌ Share content intended to embarrass or humiliate others

Compromise Security

• ❌ Attempt to hack, breach, or compromise the app's security
• ❌ Access accounts that don't belong to you
• ❌ Share your login credentials with others outside your family
• ❌ Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code
• ❌ Interfere with the app's operation or other users' access

Misuse the Platform

• ❌ Use Chorely for commercial purposes without authorization
• ❌ Advertise or promote products or services
• ❌ Collect user data for external purposes
• ❌ Use the app in any way that violates laws or regulations
• ❌ Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions

Content Guidelines for Photos

When uploading task evidence photos:

DO:

• ✅ Upload clear photos showing task completion
• ✅ Ensure photos are well-lit and focused
• ✅ Include only relevant content (the completed task)
• ✅ Respect the privacy of family members in photos
• ✅ Get consent before uploading photos of others

DON'T:

• ❌ Upload photos with visible personal information (documents, screens with private data)
• ❌ Include people in compromising or embarrassing situations
• ❌ Upload photos taken in private spaces without consent (bedrooms, bathrooms)
• ❌ Share photos that reveal your home address or location
• ❌ Upload photos with inappropriate content in the background

Age-Appropriate Content

Content must be appropriate for all family members, including children:

• Use language suitable for all ages
• Avoid mature themes or adult content
• Keep humor clean and family-friendly
• Consider the youngest family member when uploading content

Reporting Violations

If you see content or behavior that violates this policy:

How to Report

1. Within the app: Use the report feature (if available)

2. Email: report@chorely.app

3. Include: Description of the violation, user involved, and any relevant screenshots

What Happens Next

• We review all reports within 24-48 hours
• Violating content may be removed immediately
• Users may receive warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans
• Serious violations may be reported to authorities

False Reports

• Do not make false or malicious reports
• Abuse of the reporting system may result in account suspension

Consequences of Violations

Violations of this policy may result in:

First Offense

• Warning notification
• Content removal
• Temporary restriction of features

Repeat Offenses

• Account suspension (temporary or permanent)
• Removal from family groups
• Loss of points and rewards
• Permanent ban from Chorely

Severe Violations (Child Exploitation, CSAM, Illegal Content)

• Immediate account termination without warning
• Preservation of evidence for law enforcement
• Mandatory reporting to:
• National Crime Agency (NCA) - CEOP Command
• Internet Watch Foundation (IWF)
• Local police and law enforcement as required
• International authorities if applicable
• Full cooperation with criminal investigations
• Legal action including civil and criminal prosecution
• IP address and device information provided to authorities

Enforcement

Our Rights

Chorely reserves the right to:

• Monitor content for policy violations (though we're not obligated to)
• Remove content that violates this policy without notice
• Suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion
• Cooperate with law enforcement investigations
• Modify this policy at any time

Our Discretion

• We make final decisions about policy violations
• Context matters—we consider intent and severity
• We may show leniency for minor or unintentional violations
• Repeat offenders face stricter consequences

No Obligation

• We are not obligated to monitor all content
• We may not catch every violation immediately
• Users are responsible for their own content and conduct

Appeals

If your content was removed or account was suspended:

• Your account information
• Description of what happened
• Why you believe the decision was incorrect
• Any relevant context or evidence

Appeal Process

• We review appeals within 5-7 business days
• Decisions are final after appeal review
• Not all appeals will result in reinstatement
• Repeated frivolous appeals may be ignored

Special Considerations

Family Disputes

• Chorely is not responsible for resolving family conflicts
• Disputes about tasks, points, or rewards should be handled within the family
• We may provide account information if requested by a parent/guardian
• We cannot force family members to behave in certain ways

Cultural Sensitivity

• We recognize that families have diverse backgrounds and values
• Content that is offensive in one culture may be acceptable in another
• We aim for a standard that respects all users
• When in doubt, err on the side of caution

Educational Content

• Content intended for educational purposes is generally acceptable
• Context matters—explain educational intent if content could be misunderstood
• Graphic educational content should still be age-appropriate

Your Responsibility

As a Chorely user, you are responsible for:

• Reading and understanding this policy
• Ensuring your content complies with these rules
• Monitoring content uploaded by minors in your family group
• Reporting violations you encounter
• Teaching children about appropriate online behavior

Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy to:

• Address new types of content or behavior
• Clarify existing rules
• Respond to user feedback
• Comply with legal requirements

You will be notified of significant changes through:

• In-app notifications
• Email to your registered address
• Updated "Last Updated" date

Continued use of Chorely after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
